This update makes many changes and additions to Robin and the events surrounding them. It also gives the player more control over the gender of NPCs, both named and generic.
I'm sorry for the delay in getting this out. It's by far the longest gap between updates since the initial release. I knew I wouldn't have as much time as normal last week, so I decided I'd keep the scope of 0.1.12.0 small. I then changed my mind like an idiot and tried to cram more content in.
I think my original plan was sensible. Ideally, I'd like to release regular updates at the weekend. We'll see how well that goes. Thank you for your patience.
Edit: Forgot to mention. If you want to use a 0.1.11.X save file, try to save the game away from Robin before loading it in 0.1.12.0. Doing otherwise might cause weirdness due to all the Robin changes.
Edit 2: 0.1.12.1 is available. Fixes several bugs. I reworked how NPC genitals are chosen as part of a fix, and decided to add new options to the NPC settings page while I was at it. Added notes beneath the 0.1.12.0 notes, and updated the download links. Thanks everyone for alerting me to these issues.
Patch Notes
You can now choose to penetrate or envelop NPCs, rather than waiting on them to do it. Requires high promiscuity if the encounter is consensual.
Added sliders to more precisely control the proportion of NPCs that are each gender.
Added a settings page that lets you choose the gender of specific named NPCs.

Balance Changes
NPCs with penises should no longer try to fuck the player's penis with their ass unless the encounter is consensual.
Made many adjustments to Robin's romance. Lowered the number of weeks required to trigger their ordeal.
Increased the stress and trauma caused by being too tired.
Increased the impact of delinquent acts on your reputation.
Extreme delinquency will no longer result in multiple detentions with no infractions in-between.
Made actions which alter Robin's feelings towards you clearer.
Bug Fixes
You can no longer leave the brothel or strip club while exposed.
Fixed a gamebreaking bug that could occur if you fought at the yacht.
Ejaculating inside someone's mouth or ass will now correctly lower your purity and increment your "Ejaculated in others" stat.
Fixed a bug that would get the player stuck in a loop if they entered the shopping centre while drenched.
Fixed a bug that could prevent your bottom clothes from being stripped properly.
Screaming while being molested on the bus should now attract help.
Corrected some wonky text during tentacle encounters.
Fixed a bug preventing normal interaction with Robin on saturdays.
Fixed a bug preventing you from pulling down your tights.
Fixed a bug preventing you from fixing your shorts if you were wearing a shirt.

Attending lessons recovers that drop in every subject, but next day situation repeats. I haven't checked yet if the drop is permanent if (for example) I choose to dilly-dally the lessons with Promiscuity 4 thingy ^_^
And still, school pool or swimming the sea doesn't wash out cum :)
It's really not a matter of turning stupid, you're attending school, and the class is taught new things every lesson. If you never attend/pay attention to your classes, of course you're going to fall behind the rest of the class.

ReplyDeleteSome thoughts on other matters, I think oral is kinda lacking. No visual animation unlike vaginal/anal. No way to suck your way out of encounters unless you have higer promiscuity than the number required to shake your ass in front of dicks.
I think it would be interesting to add a gloryhole as a way to make a small amount of money on the side per cumshot (add option to swallow) and rise oral skill, and to increase exhibitionism in a way (the naughty dirty taboo factor of glory holes I guess).
Some location ideas: In the public park (night time only and risky/hardly any payout besides skill increase), shopping center toilets (can be caught by security and kicked out shopping center temporarily), pub toilets (chance of aggressive drunks coming into your toilet stall), or hidden in the back of a sex shop or just an option in brothel (safe, always payout but brothel take cut).
Any future plans to add glory holes to the game?

Wait until one of the teachers (I don't remember which one) asks you to deliver an envelope somewhere. Select to open the envelope. Then you have to wait around until night or whatever so that the principle is not in his office. Go into his office, use the password you got from the envelope to log onto his computer.

Another bug I found was while giving a client at the brothel a blowjob, this popped up: "You prepare to perform a particularly lewd act, restoring your sense of control. | - Trauma | - Stress | + Arousal You prepare to perform a particularly lewd act, though its too tame to soothe you. | + Arousal | - Stress". It seems to me that only one message should be popping up.
Also, I ended up being assaulted by a gang of delinquents when delivering a letter for a teacher, and this happened: "The lean boy pulls your school skirt off your legs. He casts aside the fabric. He caresses your tummy. He gently caresses your testes and teases your glans. He licks your cheek.

The second thing sounds like you may have accidentally selected more than one option having to do with the customer's dick. I've found I can get really incoherent things by doing stuff like "simultaneously selecting to give two handjobs, a blowjob, and a foot-job" (Still unsure whether or not that's helpful with grinding promiscuity.)

Don't get me wrong, I understand you have your vision for this game and a lot of people love it for what it is, but the Obviously Consensual Roleplaying As Young And Innocent People is a big obstacle to my enjoyment of the game.
Might be kind of a weird hangup to have in a PTSD Simulator, but hey, we've all got our quirks.

Yeah, maybe I'm overthinking it. I haven't played in a while, but I recall what tended to bring me out of it was the mention of "other children" and the way some of the non-consensual NPC encounters talk to you. I could probably mitigate the latter by figuring out how to manually edit the starting breast size and starting with higher awareness, but there's still just a little something getting in the way of my enjoyment, I guess.

DeleteHello, one thing that would decrease the frustration caused by my clothing getting stolen or broken is an ability to own multiple pieces of e.g. panties and such.
ReplyDeleteThe clothing system is being overhauled. Once done, you should be able to own multiples of most clothing.

I'm glad to hear that the clothing system is being overhauled. While the current one isn't bad, and the automatic replacements are useful, It's a little vexing that we can't own multiple sets of the same clothes in different colors. Who wears the same pair of panties every day? Related to the clothing system, will there be a way to get rid of clothes we don't want anymore, or to set a default school or casual outfit? My male character who has been wearing sundresses and school skirts since the game began should wear that stuff if I choose to "get dressed for school" as I'm waking up. Related to this, the "get dressed for school" option appears to just put him a school shirt and school shorts, and doesn't give him any underwear, which means I need to go into the wardrobe if I don't want to go commando. It seems to me that this could be implemented in such a way that the player could define a set of clothing to be a "school" outfit, a "casual" outfit, and maybe a few others if you think that's a good idea.

Is there anything else currently that can be done beyond this? Also, Im not sure if it matters but I never pay Bailey at the end of the week since I can beat her up.
If you get Robin's love up a bunch and lust up a bit, they should leave you a note in your bedroom. Beating up Bailey shouldn't stop it.

DeleteSo today I encountered a scene where, after I passed out, I woke up drugged and bound as a mannequin in the clothing store. While I did like the scene, and enjoyed the fact that it wasn't "you get bound and molested" like it usually tends to be, there was a slightly uncomfortable part, regarding a child who was specifically given an age. Like an anon mentioned earlier, it's a lot more enjoyable if the characters seem older, and giving a character an age doesn't help with that at all.

DeleteI thought giving that character an explicit age would be fine. They aren't a "true" NPC in the sense they don't have body parts or anything. If they made you uncomfortable though I may have misjudged it.

After thinking about it a bit, it's not the biggest deal ever. If it doesn't cause issues for other people, I think it's fine to leave it in. It's a really minor scene that is probably pretty rare, given I've been playing since 0.1.3 and haven't come across it before, so I can honestly ignore it if it ever comes up again.
DeleteI think the chibi sprites are excellent, and I definitely don't have a problem with them. It's super creative to include them instead of just doing a game that's pure text. I honestly don't think alternate sprites are necessary at this point, especially given the huge amount of workload it would take.
There is already so little quality loli/shota material, and nothing else quite like this, on a playability and quality level.

DeleteAt least for me, it's exactly the quality of this game that makes me want to play it while avoiding elements that really get in the way of my enjoyment - but as much as I don't like that sort of material, I wouldn't want it to get taken away from you. That's why *I* wondered if it would be possible to make an alternate scenario. It would be just that, an alternative and not a replacement.
Of course, I understand that would entail a lot of work and Vrelnir's priorities are elsewhere, and that's just fine. I'd love to enjoy a game with these mechanics without encountering content that makes it hard to stay engaged, and I've found there's nothing else quite like this that lacks the material you enjoy, either.
I hope it isn't uncivil to say I'd be pretty happy if my dream became a reality at one point, but of course I don't want it to be to the detriment of anyone else's happiness. I'll just keep watching in the sidelines while the game is developed, because hell, it's interesting just to see how this system keeps evolving.

DeleteSo using Chrome, I am able to play the game on Android, with graphics too. You just need to play it through Chrome Downloaded files tab, but you cant run it, when it's zipped. And only way I figured out was to upload the html file somewhere and download it again with Chrome. Copy the pics folder to the same location as the download is and voila.

Even with maxed swimming, all the meters (arousal stress trauma etc.) minimized, wearing a chastity belt, and picking all the most accommodating options during encounters, I can't make it more than 7-8 screens out before the stress knocks me out. I was originally kind of annoyed because I thought you had to, and neither having oversized cave-dweller hair nor being a character in a bad hentai appealed to me. Now I'm trying to figure out what actually is causing the beauty statistic to increase, though)
Beauty rises over time, and is independent of other appearance factors as you note. Higher trauma slows the rate of increase, and if your trauma is maxed any overflow damages your beauty.
DeleteBeing taken to hospital should probably take a lot more time or not recover any fatigue, also if your fatigue is maxed would be nice if fatigue increases instead caused stress and/or pain.

DeleteDunno if this has been mentioned because I haven't been comment crawling. Have you considered adding a sewing and cooking as skills to learn? So you can fix your own clothes by spending a bit of money on sewing kits, and cooking for special character events/ buffs (bake a cake, bake a psychedelic stew, etc). Maybe tie that into the oddjobs system going door to door. It'd be a nice layer while trying to live a normal life in this PTSD inducing world.

Same anon here, the game was transferred over from PC to Android chrome. I see above someone said they got it to work by dowloading it directly on phone, unpacking it and then opening it from downloads folder. Is that because it rewrites the working directory so that the links work again?
DeleteUpdate: Did as anon suggested above, downloaded html file again and moved art folder over into download dir. opening from chrome/downloads pictures work.

it's a bit illogical that some guy (girl) from the orphanage shows kindness to you from the very beginning. I have a friend, he is 13 years old, he also does not have a family and he lives in an orphanage, and so, he behaves like a scoundrel, an asshole. Rude, offends (even me) his best friend. Therefore, it seems to me a little illogical to make Robin too "friendly" to the main player (at the beginning). His psychotype must be aggressive and provocative-mocking, sarcastic, slightly evil and rude, changing with the level of friendship.

Also, I feel like it would make sense to be able to move your penis/vagina to someones lips for them to like/suck with max promiscuity, during a consensual encounter. ReplyDeleteThe game is great, and I recently unlocked Doren as a stress reliever, which is definitely a cool turn of events. The game seems really difficult to balance, but its not a bad way to pass the time.

DeleteHaving a pet wolf follow you into town would cause all sorts of problems with the locals. Something similar is planned though.
While I do like the idea of having a pet wolf it probably woulnd't work out having it follow you around. Maybe something like you can visit the wolf pack without having to be hunted and brought back once the pack trusts you enough.

Deleteafter getting maxed English it looks like encounters like Bailey and the cafeteria bullies boils down to "sit there and moan" = Win. Is there anything in the works to let us be more proactive after talking them down? If making them orgasm to leave you alone is the goal its more satisfying to actually be able to work for it.

DeleteWould be cool if this were a part of an overall difficulty setting that reduces clothing tears (a money sink basically and makes you vulnerable) but also lowers allure. Then again I like it how it is but but many seem to struggle.

ReplyDeleteWhat is the difficulty of making a scale for the "Body Attribute"? It's not always clear how many times you need to go for a run to keep the body moving so that it does not deteriorate in a day.
And also, make other scales that will give more information about the relationship with Robin, for example, or a scale for the player to see how much he needs to do obscene actions to raise his sexuality to a new level, and the same with exhibitionism . And with any category that does not have a visual scale. The player can only guess how many times he still needs to do this or that, up to next level.
