Today marks the second anniversary of the first Degrees of Lewdity release! I had no idea what to expect back then. I hoped people would like the game, but I'd never done anything like this before. Knowing that people enjoy DoL feels fantastic. Development has since become an important part of my life, and I'd have it no other way. Thank you!
As for the update, it adds new scenes around town for exhibitionist characters that allow more freedom, adds lubrication to encounters, and includes events and mechanics for high heels. It also adds new shoes and clothes, including a chest wrap that conceals the PC's breasts.
The PC has been able to travel west, back to the orphanage, since the first release. I wanted to let them travel in the opposite direction, but was unsure how to approach it. I liked how exposed PCs were pushed into returning to the orphanage and relative safety. I considered involving control, but decided exhibitionist requirements alone might be enough. Willingly roaming the streets exposed and putting yourself at risk should be a core part of exhibitionist gameplay, and one I plan to flesh out further.
Size now matters more during encounters. Larger penises are more dangerous, but have a harder time penetrating. This also applies to the PC's penis. In response to these changes, NPCs now carry lube with them. A PC skilled with the organ in question should have little trouble even without lube.

- Added ways to cross between the following areas while exposed during the day: Residential alleyways to the commercial district, commercial alleyways to the park, and the park to the industrial district. Requires level 3 exhibitionist actions unlocked if in underwear or similar, and level 5 if naked or similar. The naked versions of the scenes can be more involved.
- One of the above events includes whipped cream "clothes", with art courtesy of Mochi.
- Added an event to the school playground, triggered if another student films you crossing Oxford street naked during one of the above events.
- Expanded the wetness system developed in collaboration with Lollipop Scythe.
- The lubrication of the PC's pussy, penis and ass are now taken into account when NPCs, beasts and tentacles try to penetrate or envelop. Slime and semen will increase lubrication.
- The above also applies when the PC tries to penetrate or envelop. A lack of lubrication can be overcome with sufficient skill.
- Aroused NPC penises, vaginas and tentacles will sometimes smear or squirt lubricating fluid as they try to penetrate or envelop.
- Larger penises and tentacles will now struggle to penetrate without lubrication. Larger tentacles will have an easier time enveloping the PC's penis.
- The PC's vagina will become wetter over time while they're aroused. Thanks to Lollipop Scythe.
- NPCs may now carry and use bottles of lube during encounters.
- Added ass and penis lubrication to the characteristics Overlay.
- Added the police force's opinion of the PC to the Social overlay, which gives a general idea of the PC's criminal history stat.
- Added a simple event to the town's streets during the day.

Balance Changes
- Vaginal wetness now takes slime and semen on the labia into account.
- Increased the effect of foreign slime and semen when determining overall wetness.

- Horse/centaur penises will impact arousal, stress and trauma less while trying to fuck their way through a chastity belt.
- Beasts are now more focused on trying to breed with the PC.
- Increased the likelihood of rebellious events triggering at the orphanage.
- The frustration NPCs experience when denied a penetration is now dependent on the size of the penis involved, with larger penises having a bigger impact. The PC's stress gain and trauma reduction is also impacted.

- Losing your virginity to small cocks is now as traumatic as losing it to regular cocks, though still less painful and stressful. Losing your virginity to larger cocks now causes more pain.

Also your bizzare notion that adding lube as a mechanic to the game; but not letting the players BUY any is just asinine. Don't add a mechanic that hinders a core part of the gameplay without adding a way to mitigate it.
ReplyDeleteFor me, the build up to penetration is more interesting that the penetration itself. I like the idea of assailants needing to make the PC cum a bunch, mixing the PC's juices with their own, until they can at last get it in.

Also, I have removed the "<"s and ")"s a bit, because the comment can't be posted otherwise, as it says my "HTML cannot be accepted".
The error messages show up a bunch during encounters, I just realized they're related to the images, which are all pretty busted up: Sometimes, only a few images don't appear, other times, the whole part wheree the images are supposed to be is taken over by the error message. I downloaded and extracted the game three separate times, just to reduce any odds of it being a fuckup in my part.

-During the gangbang rape scene with the schoolmates that might happen after one crosses Connudatus street naked, my PC was forced to penetrate an assailant despite wearing a chastity cage, which wasn't broken. Not only that, but anything involving my PC's dick seemed really buggy in the encounter, with the NPC switching between repeatedly enveloping the dick ("He eases your tiny tingling penis into his ass, swallowing you to the base" happened three times in a row) and pressing "his lips against your chastity cage near your tiny twitching penis" (also a bunch of times). Also, despite becoming a fallen angel, my PC still has the regular angel looks.
-It seems that, after enveloping an NPC's penis, the game acts as if you haven't actually done so. There's no control loss, and the "His penis hovers near your slender ass" message shows up, with the options available being to keep it away or tease the tip, with no option to envelop again. However, the flavour text still describes the PC as being creampied, and semen shows up, at the end of the encounter. And still a bunch of error messages everywhere.
I got the last one as well but for me it's just the animation. The text says NPC fucking my ass but the ani' shows the rubbing scene. Also is there an option to move the "next" buttion to the left side of the screen?

Maybe that stat should be a bit less masculine++? I don't even know if it's possible with how it's balanced right now.

The reason your wings cover you is based off of your attitude settings towards if you like(or don't) peeps seeing you in your underware or nude options. You would cover with your arms(by default) but they added it a few updates ago that it's with your wings if you have them instead. You might be able to toggle that some where besides just changing the attitudes to "ok".

For some reason, when enveloping a penis during a consensual encounter at school, the penis' status in the combat menu is reset to "hovers near", even though the dialogue above acknowledges it being inside. I am unsure if this happens outside the school, I'll have to do more testing.

ReplyDeleteI arrived shortly before Kylar's introduction, so I've been around for a while, you may remember me being part of the Apartment brainstorming team a while back, along with Midge and Mookie. Mad props to them by the way, and to Lollipop Scythe, Purity Guy, Mochi, Poonta, Chingonerio, SirSkeleto, Harcher, and everyone else who I've watched help with the project. This has strangely become one of my favorite communities to be a part of.
Now then, what path is the next year of development taking? Here's my take:
1. Short term you mentioned returning to the farm, I am in favor of this, I haven't had much time to explore it yet, but from what little I've seen I am excited.
2. I am still in favor of having multiple diverse living conditions available for the PC, as such, Apartments would be cool to see. Not necessary anytime soon but certainly on the list.
3. Futanari; This should go without saying, I've been in favor of it since day 1, and with new areas like the farm and new systems like Vrelcoins, I can see a lot of possibilities.
4. Named NPCs: There's still a few things missing in my opinion, here are the major ones:
A Tomboy/Crossdresser NPC (possibly linked with skullduggery?)
Any NPCs with transformations (unless you count the Black Wolf, which by the way I wouldn't mind having some kind of story to)
Twin/Paired NPCs (For consistent simoultanious multi-target consensual encounters)
And of course, any properly Futa NPCs (this could honestly be a setting thing if you wanted)
That's all for the moment, maybe I'll compile a desired features list at some point so that it can be properly shared around.

Even when I'm doing it with a group they just write two phrases and the npc insist to start writing right when they're about to have an orgasm so they don't write nothing.

I'm not sure if you already know about this, but there is a visual bug in 0.2.14.1 when having exposed genitals (or at least vagina) and having parasites. The PC becomes invisible and there is an error message. I noticed this bug doesn't occur when there are no parasites on the clit. The parasites on the nipples also don't cause this bug to happen, so I believe it only happens when having parasites on the clit, but I haven't really tested it with anything else.

Also a suggestion: When having parasites and exposed body parts on which the parasites are clinging, other people should be able to notice these parasites and somehow react to them.

Though I must admit I have not tested it with other sizes, maybe penetration as a whole is very unlikely now.
It's based primarily on penis/tentacle size, but I've adjusted the numbers for 0.2.14.2 and it should work better.

All kinds of sprites not loading properly.
Saying that PC is being penetrated bit it just shows the rubbing animation.
Sometimes shows clothes on the PC that aren't there, and I made myself go through the angel transformation but it didn't give me the wings despite saying they were there.
After descending into the fallen angel, it still just showed me as a regular wingless angel.
Lots of animations instead being replaced by a large error with a red background, sometimes rolling over makes the error go away but the CPU sprite is still missing.
I'm using the Android build, but I know my Android isn't too old.
I always look forward to new updates, and this isn't an exception, but it's currently too buggy for me to do much that I want.
Lookin forward to the next one, as you're really good at fixing mentioned bugs.

And with no sprite in the way, scrolling down allows the side panel to move into its spot with some of it being cut by the location image. [will send images through email]
When picklocking my way out of the bus station, everytime I chose to leave, my PC got assaulted. It's happened over seven times in a row, though I could've still chosen to leave via ladder or passing out. [was being stubborn, though hopefully it was just bad luck on my part]
Beyond that, I've had an encounter where my chastity belt was torn off leaving my PC to lose her virginity [finally] but during said same scene, she suddenly gained a tattered chastity belt preventing the rape from continuing. (I honestly think her Angel [now Fallen Angel though the transformation didn't appear] powers created it since she's been one so long. *shrugs*) The second time it broke, it was gone for good.

Is there somewhere that we could submit writing for simple events to maybe be added? I don't know much easier it is to add an event once the writing for it is done, or how willing you are to add other peoples work to your game, but I could see that being a way to quickly flesh out existing areas with simple events.
Lastly, you're pretty cool.

Note that a lot of contributions don't make it into the game. This is rarely because they're bad. It's usually because they can't quite be made to fit.

The sale price was reduced quite dramatically. The main purpose of the option was to let people clear their wardrobe of invisible items caused by bugs in previous versions.
