As part of the rework, NPCs now have different penis sizes. Larger penises are more dangerous. In the future I'd like to make skilled characters better able to "manage" extreme sizes. To combat this new NPC power, the size of the player character's ass is now simulated. Exercise will encourage a smaller butt, while low purity and parasites will encourage growth.

Note on the Android version: Unfortunately any previous Android version will need to be removed before installing this one. However, the underlying problem should be resolved, and this should be the last time this particular issue causes incompatibilities. Remember you can use the export feature if you wish to move saves to the new version.
Another note on the Android version: Google Play Protect has become more aggressive lately. When testing I found that installing a new version works fine, it just asks if you trust the developer, but reinstalling the same version will result in an error. This can be bypassed by disabling Google Play Protect. You can enable it once the game is installed without trouble. Not sure why this is. Hopefully it's temporary.

Patch Notes
- Reworked the parasite framework. Added slime parasites and a few related events to the old sewers. Slime parasites have the opposite effect of traditional parasites, and reduce the size of the body part they're attached to.
- Added an ass parasite to the forest. It lurks in rivers.
- The art for penis and chest parasites will now adjust to penis and breast size.
- Added simple animations to the penis parasite.
- Reworked how NPCs are generated. Their body type now controls how tough they are, and influences breast size. Muscular, rugged and burly NPCs are particularly strong, though still far weaker than Bailey and Eden. Thanks to NG.
- Average NPC strength is roughly unchanged, with the exception of fellow students and other characters using the "boy" or "girl" descriptor. They are a bit weaker in general, depending on body type.
- NPCs now have different penis sizes, ranging from tiny to massive. Massive penises cause more pain when taking virginity. A slider in settings controls the sizes they'll spawn with. Also thanks to NG.
- Named NPC penis size is changed from the NPC Settings page.
- Added different ass sizes for the PC, ranging from slender to huge. Thanks to Klorpa for the framework. Also thanks to Klorpa for a ball size framework, though it is currently unused.
- Added a short event to maths class. Written in collaboration with Brooms17.
- High dominance will now cause Robin to push a bit harder for lewd when climbing into bed with you.
- Avery will now demand the PC wear appropriate clothing when going on a date. Thanks to NG.
- Added a surgical mask to the clothing shop. Wearing it stops fame from increasing, but has no impact on crime.
- NPCs can try to remove the mask during encounters. Covering your face with a hand will stop them.
- Added frayed, torn, and tattered variants for the babydoll, babydoll lingerie, ball gown, blouse, crop top, kimono, mini kimono, maid outfit, and nun's habit sidebar sprites.
- Adjusted the above clothes, and added simple animations where appropriate.
- Added white versions of the babydoll and babydoll lingerie.
- Legwear will now layer beneath underclothes.
- Added ass size and the new parasites to the cheat menu.
- Adjusted the PC's arms on the missionary sprite.
- Adjusted the PC's breasts on the missionary sprite. They should now better obey the laws of physics.
- Randomised the order tips appear in the sidebar. Thanks to Klorpa.
- Added a checkbox to disable auto select on the export/import page and other changes that should help when pasting data. Thanks to Lollipop Scythe.
- Thanks to vultureangels for improving code related to the player character's sex.
- Thanks to Lollipop Scythe for minor fixes to swarms and tentacles.
- Harper now notices if you're dripping with lewd fluids during a personal exam.
- The trained medical audience will now notice if you're covered in lewd fluid during parasite removal.
- Jordan now notices lewd fluids when checking your chastity belt.
- Jordan now spots lewd fluid before 'cleansing' you for the temple.
- Jordan now gets a surprise if you are full of lewd fluid during the cleansing ceremony.
- Leighton notices lewd fluids when performing class inspection. The PC will use lewd fluids to enhance their flaunting.
- NPCs now notice more attributes when exposing yourself on the beach.
- Added new park events for normal and nude running. May run into named NPCs when running nude. On dark and stormy nights strange creatures may crawl up from the nearby drains, making running naked risky.
- Added more jobs when looking for work on Domus Street. Includes life-modelling opportunities, providing help for a shy kid, and retrieving refreshments from a pervy shopkeeper. Beware kids with water bombs.
Balance Changes
- Separated the holy pendant from the habit. It can be bought from the neck section of the clothing shop.
- Lowered the cost of the habit to £60.
- Pain will now drop to slightly below the point of disability (if it was higher than that) after being beaten up by Whitney and forced to perform oral.
- Increased the effect of lust on the frequency of Kylar's stalking and their events at school.
- Being rescued from the dealer gang by Bailey should no longer result in the PC immediately passing out once back on Domus Street.
- Covering your face with a hand now stops all sources of fame that occur during encounters.
- Kimonos and mini kimonos are now sturdier.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug causing the PC to be referred to with an NPC's pronouns during the Oxford Street abduction sequence.
- Fixed a bug causing gender confusion for the NPC who interferes the second time you take a stimulant for the maths competition.
- Copying the drugged student's work will now properly give a mathematical insight.
- Fixed a soft lock found when refusing to pose for Leighton at the brothel.
- Fixed a bug causing the upper half of under outfits to break when only the lower half should.
- Whitney will now refer to male PCs as "boyfriend" when borrowing them from Robin.
- The image for school trousers should no longer disappear when tattered.
- Fixed a bug causing the PC's arms to appear on the sidebar sprite when grappled.

This is apparently due to a change in the Breast Size sliders, it used to go -100 to +100 now it's -12 to +12, so save games that use the old slider and were adjusted now result in that error.

ReplyDelete0.2.0 was clothes, which are still mysteriously vanishing, and the artwork's still not all done. 0.2.1 was a rework of combat for the baby complex kink. Definitely not for everybody. 0.2.2 was a single (large) event, which while fun, isn't repeatable. 2.3 is... a rework of parasites with no new content other than ways to get the subtraction variant, and a bunch of male focused framework expansions.
Can we have some more general expansion of the game? How long has it been since there was a significant amount of content added for the NPC's that the are regularly interacted with? Maybe consider expanding on those a bit before moving on to adding in new areas and presumably new NPC's that will need expanding on as well?
The school could be given a second set of classes, a simple true/false variable that flips at midnight could be used for determining which classes occur that day, and will automatically alternate which classes have 3 meetings that week. Potential new classes could be Art, Music, Geography (field trips?), PE, some foreign language, sex ed (taught be Leighton naturally), splitting science into bio/chem/physics, etc. After school sports or clubs could be added.
New stuff for regularly used jobs could work too.
You seem to be putting a lot of time into expanding descriptors in the combat system (some of it's donated, but still take time to implement and test). I doubt I'm the only person who'd rather see new scenes comes out rather than further expansions of the combat system (which is often just spammed through). Is it really worth the amount of time being put into it?
Aside from that, can you put a toggle on the whole dynamic penis size thing? Preceding grumbling aside, it's the only non-toggleable feature of the game I actively dislike. Definitely preferred the game without it, not a fan of the fact that there's no way to keep the majority of people normally sized. If you can't toggle it, maybe swap it to a bell curve it with the slider position being the top of the curve?
I have to be honest, i completely agree. I'm thankful of course, after all the game is completely free and he has no obligation to do anything, but i can't help but feel a bit disappointed. I'm expecting a different kind of contents and updates for a lot of time now... and instead it's just parasites stuff that i even have it disabled in my game, so it doesn't affect me in the slightest... and lewd fluids? I mean... c'mon... it's just very specific fetishes and nothing more it seems...

I believe the reason Vrel and team are more focused on adding additional content to the game instead of increasing the quality of what is already in the game is because Vrelnir already has a large-picture goal they want to achieve, and are laying the groundwork for the entire world of DoL.
I personally approve of this way of doing things, as while it may make things slow now, it will allow for a better game overall, and make an interesting, function world of overlapping stories and lore, creating a game that will be better in the long run than if the team focused on named NPCs and elements already in the game

DeleteI've had a similar comment in the past, but they were concerned I'd been spending too much time adding content for named NPCs, and not enough on fetishes. The game is diverse in its content, and people like it for different reasons. I try to keep a balance, and it hurts to know I'm not satisfying everyone. People's opinions on the game are important, but as TheShadowSlayer_ says, I have a rough goal in mind and chasing what I think others want at the expense of my own vision won't end well.
I'll try to work harder and get more content out faster. I'm not sure what else I can do.
All that said, I have been wanting to work on more writing-heavy content lately. Other classes are planned. As for new named characters, I made the decision to avoid adding more until the current cast were better fleshed out several months ago. Gwylan snuck in, but they're very sneaky.

DeleteMy primary concern was that DoL will go the route of many text games and just keep adding in shiny new features and neglect developing what's already in place. I may have rambled off into a tangent. It's good that you do plan on going back to them at some point, but that's a pretty common refrain for text (and text + image) games. Would prefer to see a mix of new stuff and expanding on the old, but as you said, you can't satisfy everyone, and bluntly put, you don't need to. Was bringing up concerns that I personally had. I wasn't trying to suggest dropping new development and just focusing on expanding, more of mixing developing the old in with the adding of new stuff.
I'm aware that it's somewhat unfair comparing DoL to games developed by others, but I'm human and we tend to comment on patterns we see.
As hard to hear as they can be, I'm much happier having concerns aired, rather than hidden. Thanks again.

DeleteThe wardrobe is a bit buggy: when you select "Wear Pyjamas and climb in bed" to go to sleep, if you're already wearing something that's part of the pyjamas clothing set, it says that that part is missing and you can't wear it.
ReplyDeleteEx: my payjama includes plain panties. I was already wearing them with the school outfit. I selected the option "Wear Pyjamas and climb in bed". This appeared "Part of the set could not be worn as it is missing from your wardrobe", and then it removed the plain panties.
Several variants of that issue have been around since 0.2.0.0. Workaround is have a bunch of spares of pieces you use for multiple sets (underwear most commonly) and cross your fingers you don't get the duplicate deletion bug (likely connected).

It's not a hard no, but there are no plans to turn Robin "bad" like Whitney is bad. There are plans to take their dominance further though, and you may reveal another side of them.

DeleteIf you are worried about the game's difficulty you could consider a difficulty slider with: I'm a sissy (easy); normal; cumslut (hard); Why has god forsaken me? (hardcore).
It already has difficulty, it's just decided by other things. For example, choosing a smaller body affects nothing except making fights harder, there is also an option to affect how many events you encounter due to alure. Plus playing as attractive makes the game harder. In addition the number of males increases difficulty, as females have no way to penetrate, so are much safer to be molested by. Especially if you're also female.

The asylum should be offering showers daily, assuming it's working right. I agree that an introductory shower makes sense. You are usually at least a little slimy when you arrive, aye.

Glad you think so. There are plans to add slime/semen to the cheat menu. Titjobs can be initiated already, but they're a bit awkward. You have to be in the first "stage" of oral. Once they push their cock against your mouth, the option disappears. I want to make it more flexible in the future.

Not really my thing, but it sounds like you've got a solid idea of what you want. You can always try writing and submitting it. Best case it gets in, worst case you've wasted a half hour. Also possible Vrelnir adds in in after a bit of tweaking. Hell, even some of the meaner things could be repurposed to locker-room comments (the lack of showers there limits things though).

ReplyDeleteLong hair contributes, but not as heavily as beauty and revealing clothes. Getting an S rating is difficult since the clothing overhaul, as your (lack of) underwear no longer contributes unless it's visible. There are more beauty-increasing effects on the way though.

It says right under the download link that you have to uninstall first before installing 0.2.3 the first time. You can export your saves from the old version and import to the new. Unless this is a fresh download you're talking about, then at that point idk.
DeleteAnon is right if you already have a pre-0.2.3.0 version installed. Versions later than that should be overwritten without problem, assuming it's working right.

ReplyDeleteI am also on Android. Instead of installing over your old copy of the game, you will need to uninstall if fully then replace it with the latest version. If you have any saves you want to carry over, click the export/import button then copy and paste them somewhere e.g. a notes app to paste them back into the import/export box when you have finished installing the update. You will need to do this for each save you want to transfer.

Is there a way we could change how the school thing works a little bit? what i mean by that is when attending a class you get to choose 3 times how you want to act the next 20 minutes but only the first 2 times its possible to get event to trigger which means the third time is kinda useless. Soooo could we also get a chance to trigger events after the third choice because technically the event would still be happening in the same hour.
ReplyDeleteIt would require a bit of a rework, but I agree the current set up is a bit weird. I know a bit more about coding now, and it might be easier to do than I expect.
DeleteThere is is similar problem with the combat system, as the combat choices you choose right before your partner orgasms have no effect, as the screen cuts to orgasm text then finishes. If you have time, fixing it would help smooth out the game.
DeleteMaybe putting the last actions as part of the orgasm text would work, but that might be a lot of writing. Or you could simply remove the last turn of combat, but that seems awkward. Either way, it's not currently a game-breaking issue.
Id like to see some more diffrent events for the bus rides and for the overall walking around town events if possible. The more diffrent events can happen the less boring they overall get even if its just some minor changes like with the dog that leads you in a alley wich gives you: no money,5-idk money,a group of dogs or some people.

DeleteHave you considered writing events or variants of events and donating them? It's probably the best way to get what you want in the game in the near future. Vrelnir's got a tentative list of things that are going to be worked on next (see the previous version's comments), and fleshing out the town isn't on that list.

There's more bondage planned. Blindfolds will be fun to explore. Most future bondage won't be "everyday" stuff though, as it would be quite difficult to update everything to accomodate. Even the current bondage options aren't taken into account as often as they should. Collars are easy enough, but bound arms and chastity are a bit more involved.
DeleteMore extreme bondage will fit within specific scenarios. The underground dungeon could use some.
The current exhibitionism content doesn't quite hit the mark. You should have reason for walking the streets naked at night, performing acts with greater risk as exhibitionism climbs, culminating in walking the streets naked during the day.
Pregnancy is planned, for the PC and some major NPCs. Most named NPCs will be infertile though, simply because of the work required for each one.

ReplyDeleteI play on Android. It is fine, you just have to ensure when you are updating to fully uninstall the previous version before replacing it with the new. Also, if you want to carry over any saves back them up using the import/export button method as described by Vrelnir before you delete the older version.
